Nehemiah Community Development Corporation (NCDC) was formally established and recognized by the I.R.S. in September of 1999. It's mission in essence is derived from the man for which it is named: Nehemiah (445 BC) was a forerunner in helping people in times of great crisis in their lives.
Our objectives, though practical, impact recipients in a great way. This often re-directs their life course to much more positive and desired results.
N.C.D.C. hired an independent grant consulting firm soon after its inception to evaluate the needs of our region. The conclusions drawn were as follows:
- Our greatest strengths will be in the area of natural restoration and education.
- Our experience in natural restoration projects will also provide opportunities for mentoring young men in the building profession.
- Our educational workshops will strengthen families of all ages thus strengthening the core of our communities.
